Pressure sensor for Bosch VGS-NAG3 725.0 TCU repair solution

Inside the mechatronics control unit there are clutch pressure/position sensors that measure hydraulic pressure and help calculate clutch positions for each sub-transmission. These sensors are critical for correct gear engagement and smooth shifting.

The most common failures in DQ380/DQ381 transmissions are:

  • Faulty pressure/position sensors in the mechatronics unit

  • Electrical faults in the sensor circuits

  • Sensor drift or wear over time causing bad signal outputs

VW / Audi typical fault code

When these sensors fail or malfunction, the transmission control unit logs codes such as:

P1735 / P173500Position/pressure sensor for Clutch #1 — electrical malfunction
P1736 / P173600Position/pressure sensor for Clutch #2 — electrical malfunction
P175E00 / P176E00Clutch position anomalies after or during operation
These codes indicate the mechatronics can’t reliably read clutch pressure/position, so it cannot regulate clutch engagement properly
